Mechanical Fittings & Plugs
Mechanical plugs are used when there is no protruding pipes to attach a flange or flange adaptor to.
High pressure mechanical plugs are used to seal the ends of pipelines when pressure testing with water. They are placed in the end of the pipeline, mechanically tightened and then strutted.
Although the test plugs are nominally one diameter they can cover variations of up to 20mm in diameter.
All of our high pressure test plugs are fitted with ¼ turn valves for closing off the filling/vent port.

Please note, the addition of the vertical vent pipe maximises the removal of air when filling the pipeline with water. Each plug has a substantial end plate for strutting purposes.
Flange Adaptors
PT has a full range of flange adaptors and internal plugs.
Flange adaptors are for attaching a flange to a pipe end (pipe without flange) the adaptors have to suit the pipe material they are attached to.
All our fittings are highly robust and engineered to withstand the pressures exerted during testing.

PT has a wide range of flanges and the in-house capability to drill and tap blank flanges to meet customer requirements.
Flanges up to DN65
Pressure testing flanges up to and including DN65 have two ¾" BSP ports. One fitted with a ¾" ¼ turn vent valve and the other with either a ¾" BSP hydraulic plug or ¾" male quick release coupling for the pressure/recording hose using fitting ‘e’ included in the fittings kit.
Stainless Steel Flanges
Test flanges up to and including DN300 are supplied for testing on potable water mains.
Flanges DN80 to DN1400
These pressure test flanges have two ports, 2" BSP and ¾" BSP. The top port is fitted with a ¾" ¼ turn vent valve and the other 2" ¼ turn valve terminating with a 2" female camlock quick release coupling.
